Sooz Chirino

The degree show at Gray's School of Art, Aberdeen runs all this week and has some fantastic work on display in fashion and textiles. This is one of the sketchbooks of Sooz Chirino bursting with experiments and ideas.

Lauren Knight

I really like Lauren Knight's illustrations which combine collage with paint and drawing. 

Lauren Knight has just graduated in costume from ECA. 

The images above are from the costume and illustration for the ballet 'The Prince of the Pagodas'. 

" I saw the ballet as a platform for creating a mythical world of asian influence, due to many clues given in the story and the influence of Indonesian instruments in the score. I kept my research broad, spanning many different cultures, particularly focusing on non-western fashion, mixing the historical and contemporary. I wanted the look to have flavours of the exotic, natural world." Lauren Knight

Amy Lawrence

Amy Flo Laurence's graduate costume show at Edinburgh College of Art displayed painstaking research which gave her costumes an authenticity, integrity and richness.

Claire Barclay

Wonderful fun illustrations and costumes developed by Claire Barclay for her graduate collection at ECA. Great to see all of the design processes displayed at Claire's show and all of the experiments and exploration with fabrics.
